Public Relations: What, Why and How

When I tell people that I work in public relations, they tend to get a slightly puzzled and mostly bored look on their face as they follow up with the question: “What exactly is public relations?” Knowing that they’re asking more out of social etiquette than actual interest, I usually mutter something about it being a lot of writing.

The reality, however, is that public relations is a fundamental part of successful business marketing.  It is literally the avenue through which you relate with your publics.

Morinda’s corporate PR strategy revolves around a handful of key publics, which include our IPCs, relevant media outlets, and key awards organizations. The entire idea behind our PR efforts is to serve as a bragging platform for the incredible achievements that Morinda and our distributors have earned. Here are some of the recent highlights in the world of Morinda PR:

•    IPCs
The TruAge Operating System was introduced just a few months ago, and already has proven its success. Take a look at the news release about Tracy Ternberg’s use of the OS at the Minnesota State Fair.

Did you catch the news about Morinda’s involvement in the 2015 International Symposium on the Maillard reaction? We were excited about the Symposium story, but were more excited to learn that the story’s pick-up rate was more than four times higher than our average pick up rate! •    Awards Organizations
Morinda is basically slaughtering the corporate awards game. Did you know that Morinda Life has won two Telly Awards, a Stevie Award and is currently a finalist for “Best Video of the Year” in the Golden Bridge Awards? What’s more, Rapid Fuel has been honored with a Stevie Award and a Women World Award!

What does any of this have to do with you, you ask? Well, besides giving you a thousand reasons that joining Morinda is the absolute best decision you could have made, it gives you an example of how you can—on a much smaller scale—relate with the publics relevant to your organization.
